Description
We are currently looking for a dedicated experienced individual to join our team as Part Time – Cybersecurity Professor. The ideal candidate will plan, organize and teach in a manner that ensures the achievement of the institution’s learning objectives. Responsibilities include teaching the subject area or areas that correspond to the specialty, contribute to the academic process of the institution through the participation in the development of curriculums, assessment, evaluation, research, peer mentoring and coaching, community service, advancement of the institution. AGM University serves a diverse student population, offering bilingual education to the community for traditional and non-traditional students.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Doctoral or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience as a successful instructor in your subject area, prior teaching experience at the postsecondary level is strongly preferred.
3. Ability to express himself/herself effectively, verbally and in writing, in Spanish and English.
4. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational skills and teamwork.
5. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds.
6. Commitment to student success and the institution’s mission.
7. Able to submit copy of any diploma, academic transcripts and/or certifications
8. Proven leadership skills from your previous work experience.
9. Knowledge and experience in technical applications:
a. Proficiency with MS Office suite software, such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as Google applications.
b. Proficiency in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Cloud Computing, Blockchain, or Cybersecurity.
c. Familiarity with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard).
Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. CompTIA certifications as Network+, Security+, Clod+, AI Essentials and others.
2. Demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity principles, including network security, information security, risk management, and incident response.
3. Hands-on experience with security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), SIEM platforms, and vulnerability assessment tools.
4. Experience with ethical hacking, penetration testing methodologies, and secure coding practices.
5. Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).
6. Familiarity with cloud security concepts (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and emerging areas.
7. Experience integrating real-world cybersecurity scenarios, labs, or simulations into teaching.
8. Professional certifications from ISACA such as CISM, CISA, or CRISC, or demonstrated knowledge of IT governance, risk management, and compliance (GRC) frameworks.
