Description
We are currently looking for a dedicated experienced individual to join our team as Full Time Faculty – Social Work. The ideal candidate will plan, organize and teach in a manner that ensures the achievement of the institution’s learning objectives. Responsibilities include teaching the subject area or areas that correspond to the specialty, contribute to the academic process of the institution through the participation in the development of curriculums, assessment, evaluation, research, peer mentoring and coaching, community service, advancement of the institution. AGM University serves a diverse student population, offering bilingual education to the community for traditional and non-traditional students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Facilitate twelve (12) credits per semester in your area of specialty.
2. Maintain competence and professional development in their discipline and in the different teaching and research modalities and methodologies.
3. Conduct themselves ethically, with initiative, leadership, and professional dynamism.
4. Participate in the development, review, implementation, and evaluation of academic offerings.
5. Develop research projects, publications, and external resource projects.
6. Participate in committees, commissions, and governing bodies, as requested to them.
7. Participate in the election of representatives of the faculty to the governing bodies and committees of the Institution.
8. Attend faculty meetings, faculty assemblies, and graduation ceremonies convened by the University.
9. Actively participate in the learning assessment processes and continuous improvement of academic programs and institutional services.
10. Provide academic counseling, mentorship, and other support to students.
11. Maintain an individual professional development plan.
12. Serve as a mentor to new faculty members.
13. Comply with the functions and tasks inherent to teaching.
14. Participate in the evaluation committee for doctoral program candidates.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
15. Candidate must have one of the following:
a. PhD in Social Work.
b. DSW in Social Work with experience in investigation and a minimum of two years of post-master’s experience.
16. A Master of Social Work (MSW) from a program accredited by the CSWE.
17. Minimum 2-5 years of professional experience as a successful instructor in your subject area, with prior teaching experience at the postsecondary level, preferred.
18. More than 2 years of post-master’s social work degree practice experience, including experience with individuals and families and/or experience with groups and communities and/or experience in generalist or clinical experience and/or exposure to developing research questions or proposals.
19. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or equivalent licensure/certification (e.g., LCSW, LMSW, or state-specific credentials) in good standing.
20. Experience supervising MSW students in field placements, internships, or doctoral-level student research.
21. Ability to express himself/herself effectively, verbally and in writing, in Spanish and English.
22. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational skills, and teamwork.
23. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds.
24. Commitment to student success and the institution’s mission.
25. Able to submit copy of any diploma, academic transcripts and/or certifications
26. Proven leadership skills from your previous work experience.
27. Knowledge and experience in technical applications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
28. Experience in curriculum development and program accreditation processes (e.g., CSWE accreditation for social work programs) is desirable.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
29. Available to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
30. Work Location: Hybrid, Remote, Online. (San Juan, PR or Orlando, FL)
