Description
We are currently looking for an individual to join our team as the Instructional Designer. Work consists of developing learning solutions using the latest instructional technologies for exemplary curriculum and instructional design. Responsible for creating compelling learning activities and designing course content, working with subject matter experts to identify course needs, applying instructional design theories and methods, and utilizing multimedia tools to enhance the learning process. AGM University serves a diverse student population, offering bilingual education to the community for traditional and non-traditional students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Designs, develops, and maintains engaging, competency focused online learning programs and strategies.
2. Applies instructional design principles and andragogy theories and methods in designing effective instructional courses.
3. Incorporates theories and methodologies that factor in learning styles when designing instructional learning outcomes.
4. Develops and implements new formats and templates to align the design and course flow by integrating strategies, combined video, audio, texts, and graphics.
5. Creates interactive presentations, instructor notes, student handouts, assessment tools, and lesson plans to meet customer needs.
6. Develops creative and motivating learning strategy materials that improve academic performance and expected outcomes.
7. Enhances instructional design methods with web-based blended multimedia and instructor-led training solutions.
8. Conducts research and implements current trends in curriculum and instructional design models to structure learning activities in dual language.
9. Trains faculty and staff in the use of the Learning Management System (LMS) or other related design tools.
10. Provides overall instructional design quality control for all projects.
11. Provides support to subject matter experts on designing aligned curriculum based in current pedagogical, constructivist and andragogical research to meet academic program needs.
12. Provides reports on course development projects status, module availability, and needed revisions.
13. Develops instructional and participant guides as appropriate to training projects.
14. Verifies that instructional modules adhere to the approved instructional design format and maintain alignment with course objectives, competencies, content, activities/tasks, learning support resources, assessments, and all other course elements.
15. Conducts research on the exemplary practices for the use of the LMS to enhance the curriculum of instructional modules.
16. Evaluates all instructional modules to determine compliance with the approved instructional design format.
17. Onboards and works closely with subject matter experts through the course development process.
18. Ensure quality assurance standards are implemented to align course outcomes with institutional instructional design practices while meeting academic and programmatic requirements.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
1. Master’s Degree in Curriculum, and Instructional Design or related field in education and technology.
2. Experience in instructional design and development with a background in learning and instruction, program development and evaluation.
3. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the area or related field.
4. Ability to express himself/herself effectively, verbally and in writing, in Spanish and English.
5. Experience with web-based course management tools and Learning Management System (LMS), Canvas, preferred.
6. General Knowledge or agile project management methodology preferred.
