We are currently looking for a dedicated and experienced individual to join our team as Part Time Faculty – Anatomy and Physiology. The ideal candidate will plan, organize, and teach Anatomy and Physiology courses in a manner that ensures the achievement of the institution’s learning objectives and promotes student academic success. Responsibilities include teaching assigned Anatomy and Physiology lecture and/or laboratory courses; developing and implementing appropriate instructional activities; assessing student learning outcomes; maintaining accurate academic records; and contributing to the academic processes of the institution through curriculum development, assessment, evaluation, research, peer mentoring and coaching, community service, and institutional advancement. The faculty member is expected to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the structure and function of the human body and the interrelationships among body systems, using appropriate instructional methodologies, laboratory experiences, models, technology, and other educational resources. AGM University serves a diverse student population, offering bilingual education to traditional and non-traditional students within the community.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS 1. Master’s degree or higher in Biology, Biological Sciences, Anatomy, Physiology, Biomedical Sciences, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution. 2. Candidates whose graduate degree is not specifically in Biology, Anatomy, Physiology, or a closely related biological science should demonstrate appropriate graduate-level academic preparation in the discipline relevant to the courses assigned. 3. Academic preparation must demonstrate sufficient subject-matter expertise to teach college-level Human Anatomy and Physiology, including the structure and function of the major systems of the human body. 4. Knowledge and understanding of the fundamental concepts of: a. Human Anatomy b. Human Physiology c. Cellular Biology d. Histology e. Organ systems f. Homeostasis 5. Structure-function relationships within the human body 6. Ability to teach Anatomy and Physiology lecture and laboratory components, as applicable to the assigned course. 7. Knowledge of laboratory safety practices and appropriate use of Anatomy and Physiology laboratory equipment, anatomical models, specimens, instructional technology, and related educational resources. 8. Ability to develop and implement instructional strategies appropriate for students pursuing healthcare and health sciences programs. 9. Ability to assess student performance using examinations, laboratory activities, assignments, practical assessments, and other appropriate evaluation methods. 10. Ability to express himself/herself effectively, verbally and in writing, in Spanish and English. 11. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and teamwork skills. 12. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds. 13. Commitment to student success and the institution’s mission. 14. Ability to submit copies of diplomas, official or unofficial academic transcripts as requested, and any applicable professional certifications or credentials for faculty credentialing purposes. 15. Proven leadership and professional skills demonstrated through previous academic, teaching, laboratory, healthcare, research, or related professional experience. 16. Knowledge and experience in technical applications, including: a. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Google applications. b. Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), such as Canvas or Blackboard. c. Ability to incorporate instructional technology and digital learning resources into Anatomy and Physiology instruction. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 1. Previous college or university-level teaching experience in Human Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, Biological Sciences, or a closely related discipline. 2. Previous experience teaching both lecture and laboratory components of Anatomy and Physiology courses. 3. Experience teaching students enrolled in Nursing, Allied Health, Health Sciences, or other healthcare-related programs. 4. Experience using anatomical models, laboratory equipment, virtual anatomy resources, simulations, or other instructional technologies applicable to Anatomy and Physiology education.
