Description
We are currently looking for a dedicated experienced individual to join our team as Part Time Faculty – Medical Billing and Coding Program. The ideal candidate will plan, organize and teach in a manner that ensures the achievement of the institution’s learning objectives. Responsibilities include teaching the subject area or areas that correspond to the specialty, contribute to the academic process of the institution through the participation in the development of curriculums, assessment, evaluation, research, peer mentoring and coaching, community service, advancement of the institution. AGM University serves a diverse student population, offering bilingual education to the community for traditional and non-traditional students.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Diploma, Associate degree or higher in Health Information Management, Medical Billing and Coding, Health Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.
2. 3–5 years of professional experience in medical billing, coding, or health insurance claims processing.
3. Certification in CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CCA (Certified Coding Associate), or equivalent recognized credential preferred.
4. In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
5. Ability to express himself/herself effectively, verbally and in writing, in Spanish and English.
6. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational skills, and teamwork.
7. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds.
8. Commitment to student success and the institution’s mission.
9. Able to submit copy of any diploma, academic transcripts and/or certifications
10. Proven leadership skills from your previous work experience.
11. Knowledge and experience in technical applications:
a. Proficiency with MS Office suite software, such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as Google applications.
b. Familiarity with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Active CPC, CCA, or CCS certification.
2. Membership in a professional association (e.g., AAPC, AHIMA).
3. Prior teaching experience in postsecondary or technical education.
4. Membership in professional associations.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
1. Available to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
2. Work Location: On-site position available at the Metro Orlando, Tampa Bay, or Miami Lakes campuses of Ana G. Méndez University.
