Description
We are currently looking for a dedicated experienced individual to join our team as Full Time Faculty – Family Nurse Practitioner. The ideal candidate will plan, organize and teach in a manner that ensures the achievement of the institution’s learning objectives. Responsibilities include teaching the subject area or areas that correspond to the specialty, contribute to the academic process of the institution through participation in the development of curriculums, assessment, evaluation, research, peer mentoring and coaching, community service, and advancement of the institution. AGM University serves a diverse student population, offering bilingual education to the community for traditional and non-traditional students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Facilitate courses from twelve to fifteen (12-15) credits per semester in your area of specialty.
2. Maintain competence and professional development in their discipline and in the different teaching and research modalities and methodologies.
3. Conduct themselves ethically, with initiative, leadership, and professional dynamism.
4. Participate in the development, review, implementation, and evaluation of academic offerings.
5. Develop research projects, publications, and external resource projects.
6. Participate in committees, commissions, and governing bodies, as requested to them.
7. Participate in the election of representatives of the faculty to the governing bodies and committees of the Institution.
8. Attend departmental or adjunct faculty meetings, faculty assemblies, and graduation ceremonies convened by the University.
9. Actively participate in the learning assessment processes and continuous improvement of academic programs and institutional services.
10. Provide academic counseling, mentorship, and other support to students.
11. Maintain an individual professional development plan.
12. Serve as a mentor to new faculty members.
13. Comply with the functions and tasks inherent to teaching.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
1. Candidate must have one of the following:
a. Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a specialization in Family Nurse Practitioner
b. Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a specialization in Family Nurse Practitioner and a doctorate in a related field.
2. Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license is required.
3. Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification.
4. Minimum 1 year of experience as a nurse practitioner is required.
5. Ability to express himself/herself effectively, verbally and in writing, in Spanish and English.
6. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational skills, and teamwork.
7. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds.
8. Commitment to student success and the institution’s mission.
9. Able to submit copy of any diploma, academic transcripts, and/or certifications
10. Proven leadership skills from your previous work experience.
11. Knowledge and experience in technical applications.
12. Experience in advising and mentoring students, particularly in clinical practice.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Professional experience as a successful instructor, prior teaching experience at the postsecondary level is preferred.
2. Demonstrated clinical experience in family practice or related healthcare settings.
3. Experience in leading and organizing nursing student clinical experiences.
4. Familiarity with nursing program accreditation standards and experience in preparing for accreditation reviews.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
1. Available to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
2. Work Location: On-site. Tampa Bay Campus.
