Description
We are currently looking for a passionate and experienced individual to join our team as our IT Security Administrator. Work consists of managing the implementation of controls and procedures to prevent unauthorized access to the information and resources of the University in accordance with the established policies. Ana G. Mendez University serves a diverse student population, offering bilingual education to the community for traditional and non-traditional students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Ensure the implementation of the controls and procedures established to prevent unauthorized access to network information and resources in coordination with the IT Security Director.
2. Implement and ensure compliance with the security policies of the information systems network to protect it against attacks and unauthorized access.
3. Manage and monitor the security devices under its responsibility to protect it against attacks in breach of security.
4. Evaluate and identify sensitive areas in the security architecture and monitor the network to detect possible gaps or vulnerable areas in the security systems in coordination with the IT Security Director.
5. Assist in the resolution of any interference in security systems, using available resources.
6. Ensure the implementation of the assigned Systems Security projects.
7. Conduct technical investigations related to security matters, as requested and in coordination with the Director.
8. Manage and implement the processes for creating, updating, and deleting accounts and access profiles for users, in compliance with the rules and procedures established in the current security manuals
9. Periodically send a report with the access profile assigned to each user and supervisor to validate and/or modify if necessary.
10. Advising users on all matters related to requesting access accounts to the applications under their responsibility.
11. Maintain confidentiality of the processes, incidents, transactions, and management of information obtained by work related to IT Security.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
2. Three (3) years of experience in a similar role.
3. Ability to express himself/herself effectively, verbally and in writing, in Spanish and English.
4. Ability to identify and resolve technical problems and develop viable alternatives in the work team.
5. Ability to be precise and meticulous.
6. Demonstrate mastery of business productivity technological tools and remote communication technologies to support their functions and offer physical and remote services.
7. Ability to collect, search, and synthesize various technically complex data. Use intuition and experience to complement the information obtained, design process, and operation flows.
8. Ability to generate innovative solutions, translate ideas, concepts, and information into images; Use feedback to modify designs and pay attention to details.
