We are currently looking for a passionate and experienced individual to join our team as Instructional Designer. Responsibilities include developing learning solutions using the latest instructional technologies for exemplary curriculum and instructional design. Responsible for creating compelling learning activities and designing course content, working with subject matter experts to identify course needs, applying instructional design theories and methods, and utilizing multimedia tools to enhance the learning process. Ana G. Mendez University serves a diverse student population, offering bilingual education to the community for traditional and non-traditional students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Design, develop, and maintain engaging, competency focused blended learning programs and strategies.
2. Apply instructional design principles and andragogy theories and methods in designing effective instructional courses.
3. Incorporate theories and methodologies that factor in learning styles when designing instructional learning outcomes.
4. Develop and implement new formats and templates to align the design and course flow by integrating strategies, combining video, audio, texts, and graphics.
5. Create interactive presentations, instructor notes, student handouts, assessment tools, and lesson plans to meet customer needs.
6. Develop creative and motivating learning strategy materials that improve academic performance and expected outcomes.
7. Enhance instructional design methods with web-based blended multimedia and instructor-led training solutions.
8. Design and publish learning products to meet course needs.
9. Conduct research and implement current trends in curriculum and instructional design models to structure learning activities in dual language.
10. Provide periodic reports on course development projects status, module availability, and needed revisions.
11. Develop instructional and participant guides as appropriate to training projects.
12. Ensures that instructional modules follow the approved instructional design format and alignment with course objectives, competencies, content, activities/tasks, support learning resources and assessment.
13. Conduct research on the exemplary practices for the use of the LMS to enhance the curriculum of instructional modules.
14. Evaluate all instructional modules to determine compliance with the approved instructional design format.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
1. Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instructional Design or related field in education and technology
2. Two (2) years of related work experience required.
3. Experience in instructional design and development with a background in learning and instruction, program development and evaluation.
4. Experience with web-based course management tools and Learning Management System (LMS). Canvas, preferred.
5. Ability to express himself/herself effectively, verbally and in writing, in Spanish and English.
6. Comprehensive knowledge of current education and instructional design theories and principles applicable to online based instruction.
7. Ability to interpret faculty and subject matter experts needs and produce instructional materials.
8. Extensive knowledge of information technology principles.
9. Understanding of various operating systems, file structures, file formats, and protocols for online design and implementation of programs.
10. High level of expertise with software that facilitates the design of instruction (storyboards, flow charts, assessments, etc.).
