Description
1. Collaborate with the AVP to determine annual goals for fundraising and metrics for other development objectives (e.g., number of personal prospects meetings, new prospects identified, solicitations, cultivation events and programs, among others).
2. Design and implement a multi-year fundraising plan to secure diverse revenue streams, including individual donors, corporate sponsorships, foundations, grants, and government funding.
3. Collaborate with the Executive Director and Campus Directors to set organizational priorities, refine strategy, and develop operational plans.
4. Researching potential sponsors and donors.
5. Design and execute cultivation, solicitation, and donor recognition strategies for a portfolio of major gift prospects.
6. Responsible for building relationships with donors to encourage repeat donations at the same time works to connect with new potential donors.
7. Participate in developing marketing campaigns to generate awareness about the university for fundraising activities in coordination with the AVP and the Marketing and Public Relations Office.
8. Planning, organizing, and executing fundraising events.
9. Recording donations, sponsors, and other fundraising details to ensure accurate records and compliance.
10. Prepare written strategies and proposals for potential individual and organizational donors, collaborating with Deans and faculty as appropriate for content.
11. Plan development-oriented campus visits and events for current and potential donors.
12. Support and participate in activities to expand and deepen constituent relations including cultivation events, stewardship programs and community activities.
13. Assist the AVP in identifying and advocating for short- and long-term resources, including Development.
14. Conduct activities to identify prospective alumni in organizations and companies and maintain contact with them through communications and social media.
15. Conduct visits and presentations to potential prospects and alumni to establish collaborative partnerships.
16. Develop feasibility studies to analyze and recommend alternatives that contribute to the development of the Alumni Program.
17. Participate with alumni groups in projects that contribute to academic and student affairs, as well as fundraising and image development.
18. Monitor partnerships between external companies and the AGMU for the Alumni area.
Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or area related to its functions from an accredited university.
2. Seven (7) years of experience performing similar functions that include the creation of successful fundraising campaigns.
3. Ability to express himself/herself effectively, verbally and in writing, in Spanish and English.
4. Excellent interpersonal skills and team player able to effectively interact cross-functionally with a variety of individuals with different competencies and backgrounds.
5. Knowledge of nonprofits and regulations surrounding donations.
6. Knowledge of relevant funding sources.
7. Ability to establish a high level of credibility with external stakeholders and funders, and with the academic community.
8. Willingness to work on a flexible work schedule, and travel as the job requires.
9. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
10. Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
11. Ability to think and plan strategically to innovate and to manage change.
12. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
