Description
We are currently looking for a passionate and experienced individual to join our team as our Associate Vice President of Information Technology. Work consists of assisting the Vice President of Telecommunications and Academic Technology in aligning and coordinating the work plan with the goals and objectives of Ana G. Mendez University. Responsible for evaluating, identifying, defining, and implementing technological processes, as well as specialized tools conducive to continuously improving the technical operation of the different areas of AGMU.
AGM University serves a diverse student population, offering bilingual education to the community for traditional and non-traditional students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Participate in the activities and decision-making related to the technological development of AGMU.
2. Participate with the Vice President in defining strategies with suppliers and vendors of AGMU infrastructure, applications, and technological services.
3. Develop action plans for managing changes and coordinate the communication plan for the University Community.
4. Evaluate, identify, define, and implement technological processes, as well as specialized tools conducive to continuously improving the technical operation of the different areas of AGMU.
5. Supervise the development of the applications, programs, systems, interfaces, and databases necessary to keep AGMU's information systems up to date with the latest technology by integrating technical staff and users.
6. Direct and supervise the installation of programs developed by the system development unit and the installation of new versions, patches, or programs acquired.
7. Lead and execute the maintenance and configuration activities of the equipment and connections that make up AGMU's technological infrastructure (servers, storage systems, data, wireless, and voice networks).
8. Recommend the purchase of new network equipment systems and the contracting of services related to these.
9. Supervise the functional analysis and system failure processes and ensure their diagnosis and resolution.
10. Develop, implement, and keep updated an Operational Plan for the recovery of technological infrastructure in the event of a disaster.
11. Lead the resolution and management of security incidents with the IT Security Director.
12. Supervise the monitoring of the security systems' logs in operation to identify vulnerable areas in the network security architecture and provide solutions for managing the findings.
13. Direct and conduct investigations related to situations that affect the security of the systems.
14. Coordinate and provide the documentation requested by the External Auditors in the IT audit processes. Supports the Vice President in drafting and monitoring compliance with the corrective measures to the findings and indications resulting from the audit.
15. Direct the activities and establishment of IT Infrastructure priorities and ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
16. Prepare and submit the operational budget of the units under his supervision for approval to the Vice President. Once approved, the same person is responsible for ensuring the execution, analysis, and control of these funds.
17. Recommend and implement policies, standards, and procedures for the excellent use of information systems and technology at the AGMU.
18. Provide a development and training plan to employees under your supervision.
19. Ensure confidentiality in the processes, transactions, and management of the information contained in the Information Systems.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, from an accredited university
2. Six (6) years of experience in the university field in related functions.
3. Ability to express himself/herself effectively, verbally and in writing, in Spanish and English.
4. Knowledge of computer systems (hardware/software), networks, ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library), Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, IT infrastructure, CCNTV, antivirus, firewalls and routers, network configuration, among others.
5. Knowledge of the analysis, implementation, and evaluation of technological systems and their specifications.
6. Demonstrate mastery of business productivity technological tools and remote communication technologies to support their functions and offer physical and remote services.
7. Knowledge in budget preparation, management, and control.
8. Knowledge of management aspects.
9. Leadership and teamwork skills.
10. Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills.
11. Supervision skills.
12. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while achieving goals and objectives.
13. Ability to attend and relate to high-level personnel.
