We are currently looking for a dedicated experienced individual to join our team as Part Time Faculty - PhD in Administration of Social Programs and Social Policy Dissertation Chair. The ideal candidate will plan, organize and chair and mentor doctoral candidates throughout the dissertation process in a manner that ensures the achievement of the institution’s learning objectives. Main responsibility is to serve as a dissertation chair and mentor to our PhD candidates. AGM University serves a diverse student population, offering bilingual education to the community to traditional and non-traditional students. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Serve as Dissertation Chair for assigned doctoral students. 2. Provide scholarly guidance throughout the dissertation process, including topic development, literature review, research design, methodology, data analysis, interpretation, and scholarly writing. 3. Review dissertation proposals, manuscripts, and revisions and provide timely, substantive, and constructive feedback. 4. Lead and collaborate with dissertation committee members to support student progress and maintain academic quality. 5. Lead dissertation proposal and final defense meetings. 6. Guide students in applying appropriate research methods and ethical research practices, including institutional requirements related to human-subject research when applicable. 7. Evaluate doctoral research according to established program standards, dissertation guidelines, and institutional policies. 8. Maintain appropriate documentation of student progress and committee decisions. 9. Participate in required orientation, training, faculty meetings, or doctoral program activities related to dissertation supervision. 10. Support a diverse student population across the U.S., Puerto Rico and internationally.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS 11. Candidate must have earned PhD or DSW in Social Work or a closely related field, with demonstrated research experience 12. Previous experience in higher education, doctoral education, research, or student mentoring preferred. 13. Strong written and verbal communication skills, English only, Spanish only, or bilingual all considered 14. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational skills, and teamwork. 15. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds. 16. Commitment to student success and the institution’s mission. 17. Able to submit copy of any diploma, academic transcripts and/or certifications. 18. Knowledge and experience in technological applications. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 19. Candidates with degrees earned outside the U.S. must have a Foreign Academic Credential Evaluation (equivalency/homologation) on file. 20. Evidence of scholarly activity, such as peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, applied research, grants, program evaluation, or other doctoral-level research activities.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS 21. Compensation is provided on a per-student, per-semester basis, based on the number of doctoral students assigned. 22. Fully online, flexible schedule.
